I will not be returning as a member for the 2012 season. Hopefully the new Superintendent and office staff reflects a new beginning for the Twin Lakes Golf course. I will look forward to course improvements and a return for the 2013 season.

The 2012 Member Renewal Letter has been emailed to members. If you have problems viewing the letter in your email, you can view a copy in Adobe pdf format by clicking on this link.  

There has been no  changes to membership rates for the 2012 season except there is no 7% discount for early payments. However if you make your payment for annual renewal on or before December 13, 2011 you will recive one free pair of Sundog Sunglasses ($50 -$100 value) and a $200 Travel voucher.

A Christmas Gift Certificate Special is available untill December 13th. “3 rounds of golf with cart for only $99.00”plus HST.

Twin Lakes Golf Club Members Meeting

The meeting was called to order on Wednesday June 8^th, 2011 by Secretary/Treasurer Shirley McLean.

The minutes of last year’s meeting were distributed. There were no questions and so the report was accepted as presented.

Copies of the Treasurer’s current report dated May 31, 2011 were distributed, there was a petty cash balanced of $37.81, a bank balance of $2,809.80 for a total of $2,847.61 in available funds. There were no questions and so the report was accepted as presented.

The committee suggested that in as much as we do not have any income and no way of replacing the cost of the $600.00 given to the Ladies, Men’s and Sr. Men’s Club’s or the cost of the Wine and Cheese Annual Meeting that we need to make some adjustment to our budget. A discussion ensued and a motion was presented.

Bernice Moody moved that we take all but a $500.00 float of the funds and distribute them equally between the Ladies, Men’s and Sr. Men’s Club ‘s and discontinue donating the monies to the 3 clubs. Darlene Gordon seconded the motion. A vote was taken and the motion was approved.

Members were reminded of the fall social events:

President vs Vice President Tournament Sept. 17^th 1:00pm shotgun
Windup Banquet Oct. 15^th 6:00pm dinner
One Club Tournament Oct. 16^th 1:00pm shotgun

We discussed the lack of interest by the members to utilize the committee as a means to communicate with the management and owners. Manager, Ron Hosner has indicated to many of the members that his door is always open to discuss their concerns. A discussion followed and the following motion was made.

Bernice Moody made the motion that we change the purpose of this committee to a “Social Committee” which will run the tournaments and social events throughout the year on behalf of the Twin Lakes Golf Course Members. Gary Kennedy seconded the motion. A vote was taken and the motion was approved.

The raffle prizes were drawn and were won by Dave Myles, Ken Lintott and Bev Lintott.
George Horner moved the meeting be adjourned.

The discount in the Pro Shop this year will be "Tag Price", which means no HST.  The dollar amount on the price ticket is the price you pay.

After a nice recuperation from winter via a trip to New Zealand I am able to post new information about Twin Lakes Golf Course.
Rob Tadey is returning to the pro shop this year in his new position as a golf professional. Gord Booth is also returning. A new addition to the staff is Pam Marcelino

The owners of the Twin Lakes Golf Course have announced the appointment of a new General Manager , Ron Hosner. The full announcement in PDF format is HERE :

Kaleden, BC, January 26, 2011 – Twin Lakes Golf Course Ltd is pleased to introduce Ron Hosner as General Manager, who will report directly to the Board of Directors.  Mr. Hosner will be responsible for Golf Course Operations and achieving the golf course short and long term goals.

Ron’s previous experiences include ownership in several successful food service and entertainment businesses, responsible for opening several National Franchise Food Service locations in British Columbia and Alberta, and has over 30 years experience in related customer services businesses. 

In addition to his business achievements, Ron has held Directorship positions with The Whistler Chamber of Commerce, Tourism Whistler, Garibaldi Golf Club, Big Sky Golf Club and is currently an active Director with the WW Golf Scholarship Foundation.  Ron is well known and respected for his work with each of these organizations. His experience with managing staff, working with members and customers, will benefit him in this new role.

"Ron has been living in Penticton for the past three years with his family; he has a strong passion for wine tasting and interacting with people. We are confident his community involvement and passion for the game of golf will be well received by members and guests of Twin Lakes Golf Course,” explained Chris Couzelis.

Ron will make himself available any time after February 1, 2011 for inquiries you may have regarding the 2011 golf season. Ron is looking forward to meeting all the members and working with the team at Twin Lakes to provide a great golf experience for everyone.

Located 15 minutes from Penticton Airport in beautiful sunny South Okanagan, Twin Lakes has a 18 hole championship golf course in a spectacular setting and with the nearby trout stocked lakes, hiking/biking trails and Apex Mountain Ski Resort, all which will provide the Twin Lakes area with year round activities.  Over the past three years, the new Ownership Group has been investing in improving the golf course playability and conditions with the goal to have the course as a must play when golfers visit the South Okanagan area.  In tandem, a 200+ lot sub-division overlooking the golf course is the secondary project in process and when complete will create an expanded Twin Lakes community.

The 2011 membership rates are now available. A copy of the covering letter is available here and the notification of the 2011 rates are available here. Comparisons of current and former fees are available on the DUES AND FEES  page.  The owners have reduced rates by approximately $40 for individuals without cart rental to $227 for a couple with full cart privileges when taking into account all  BCGA dues and early payment terms. (But not taking into account a 7% increase due to the conversion to the HST tax which reduces a couples saving from $227 to only $71)

Members will no longer have to pay for "booking privilege", however  the cart rate will increase for lifetime members from last years $385 to $659. Lifetime members who do not lease a cart will only pay the BCGA and Zone 2 dues of $35.
